ESCAPE THE CITY FOR A WEEKEND OF COUNTRY LIVING

ESCAPE THE CITY FOR A WEEKEND OF COUNTRY LIVING

Escape City life for a weekend of Country living

3 Luxe get-aways only 2 hrs from Brisbane

As we near the busiest time of year for workplaces, whether they’re retail based or an industry pushing to meet EOFY targets, we foresee that a mini-break may be on the horizon not long after June 30th for many employees.  Luckily for Brisbane-ites; peace, serenity, relaxation and the ability to go off the grid, is only a two hour drive away. We even have a choice of incredible beaches, rolling farmland or secluded rainforests. So whether you’re treating yo’ self or treating a special someone, we’ve got you covered with this list of our 3 favourite luxe escapes within 2 hours drive of Brisbane.

1.       Spicers Retreat – Peak Lodge

We’re starting off with the top of the pile, the heavy hitter, Spicers Retreat Peak Lodge is the absolute ultimate in the luxurious, peaceful, back to nature & truly romantic of get-aways. Located in Maryvale of the Scenic Rim, this haven will begin soothe away any of life’s pressures, even before you’ve arrived. The two hour drive includes picturesque winding roads and beautiful expanses of farmland and rolling hills, so stop for a wee minute and breathe in the fresh air to start your journey of revitalisation. The food here also rightly deserves it’s two chefs hats, the spa is the definition of serenity and they have plenty of low energy activities like leisurely bush walks to keep you entertained. Rates start from $999 per night.

2.       Villas of Byron

Think rainforest, quiet, tea, coffee, red wine, cheese platters, haven, seclusion. This is all found at the Villas of Byron. On the trek in to Byron, the Villa’s are definitely not what you’re expecting. You are so close to the happenings of Byron town centre, literally 1km away from the infamous Byron Surf Club, but the owners have done a masterful job of hiding each villa away from the hustle and bustle of it all. These Balinese villas would be hard pressed to be beaten by anything in Bali. They invite outside in with floor to ceiling glass sliding doors leading to individual gardens of lush rainforest greenery with outdoor showers, impeccable zen gardens (must resist messing up) spas & private pools. We were a group of 4 girlfriends and our package amazingly included a fruit platter, in villa massages and in villa chef prepared breakfast. For those of us who include eating out and checking out local events as part of relaxing experience then this is perfect for you. There is no way you could walk away from a weekend at Villas of Byron not completely relaxed.   Rates start from $495 per night weeknights and $635 per night on weekends.

3.       Nightfall

Glamping anyone? It is the best of camping but with all amenities of a 5 star hotel. Nightfall offers a fully catered experience complete with an open bar as standard. Located in the middle of the rainforest and neighbouring Lamington National Park, you become fully immersed in nature and truly cut off from the outside world. Go for a walk, read a book, have a massage in the outdoors of the rainforest, get into deep conversation with your special one – it’s all there ready for your journey of relaxation. And what’s even better? You are also guaranteed only 6 adults staying onsite at any one time and children are not accommodated. So, you love surrounding yourself with nature for a real slice of quiet, then this is the option for you.   Rates start from $795 per night, 2 night minimum.

If you love a life of luxury and aren’t afraid to splash out on righting your Zen, then get your special someone, load them in the car and don’t look back. And we know you’re keen but maybe wait until the sitter has arrived before leaving.

Fallen in love the country feel and interested in a more permanent move? Then check out our Acreage House & Land Packages but don’t forget we can build anywhere in South East Queensland.
